Ultraviolet Devices
Full-spectrum light. Built from 25 years of personal use.
I've had vitiligo since age 3. I've been under Philips 311nm narrowband UVB bulbs since I was 5 years old. These are the most clinically studied UV bulbs in the world — over 400 independent studies, present in virtually every phototherapy study published in the last 30 years.¹ A controlled trial showed narrowband 311nm UVB produced superior outcomes with less irritation compared to broadband UVB.²
I didn't pick them because of a spec sheet. I picked them because I've used them my entire life. I am the long-term data.
Every Krypton UV combines:
- Philips 311nm narrowband UVB — the exact bulbs the research was conducted with.¹
- 630nm, 670nm, 830nm red + NIR — selected for the absorption peaks of cytochrome c oxidase. Not commodity 660/850nm.
- UVA 320–400nm — the spectrum present in natural sunlight throughout the day.
Each wavelength range controlled independently with its own timer. Run them separately or together. Multiple sizes available.
UV and the human body.
Sunlight carries two UV bands — UVA (320–400nm) and UVB (roughly 290–315nm). When UV reaches human skin, the body converts cholesterol into vitamin D3. Same mechanism every human body has run for 300,000 years. Indoor life, windows, clothing, sunscreen, and winter latitudes all reduce natural UV exposure. The Krypton line emits UVA and 311nm UVB through Philips bulbs manufactured in the Netherlands. It's a light source. The body does what the body does.
Why the power driver matters.
Most companies cut corners here. Generic drivers produce voltage instability — flicker, inconsistent output, and specs that don't match what the device actually delivers. You read one number on the website. Your skin gets another.
Meanwell is the industrial standard. Used in medical and industrial equipment worldwide. Constant current. Flicker-free. Low EMF.³ The irradiance on the spec sheet is the irradiance you get. Every session. No degradation. No fluctuation.
Zero flicker. Low EMF. Modular — stack or link units for full-body coverage. Granted patent. Not pending. Independently IEC tested — check the specs.
