The Firewave is built around a 200W COB (chip-on-board) module: LED chips bonded straight to a substrate, no housings, no gaps, no scatter. One COB, 12 supporting LEDs, 236W, in a panel the size of a dinner plate.
What it puts out, measured. Bobby Hunt, author of The Blue Light Diet, put the Firewave under a spectrometer on video (the video's in the gallery above). Red runs 630 to 670nm, peaking around 670. Near-infrared at 830 to 850nm. Irradiance: 49 mW/cm² at 6 inches, 15 mW/cm² at 12. Those are the Firewave's own numbers, not borrowed from a bigger panel.
The wavelengths: 630nm and 670nm red, 830nm near-infrared. Each one is published, so you know exactly what's reaching you. 830nm is invisible to the eye; wear the included blackout goggles every session.
Distance and time. The Firewave is a single COB. Our larger panels have five, so they hold their irradiance further out; one COB drops off faster with distance. For the Firewave: COB and LED on, 6 to 12 inches, 4 to 11 minutes. Closer is shorter. Start at 5 minutes and build up. Up to 5 sessions per week.
Seated coverage: the 60-degree beam is intentional. Sit with the COB lined up at your sternum and the beam covers your torso and most of your seated body. You'll see exactly this setup in the gallery.
What else we've measured. Flicker: 3.2%, independently tested by Dr. Jack Kruse. Electromagnetic fields: at 7.5 inches, Bobby's meter read a magnetic field of 0.05 and an electric field of 0.005, the same as the room with the light switched off. No Bluetooth, no RF.
