Red · Near-Infrared · UVA · 311nm Narrowband UVB | Full-Spectrum Light System | Patent Granted
If you've optimized your mornings, your food, and your sleep, there's one input modern life still strips out almost completely: the light spectrum. Behind windows, under LEDs, through sunscreen, at winter latitudes — you get a fraction of what your biology ran on for 300,000 years. No UV. Minimal red. Minimal near-infrared. The Krypton UV 1612 closes that gap deliberately: four spectrums, each on its own independent timer, so you decide what your light environment delivers and when. It's our most advanced system before the Ultron — built for practitioners, serious biohackers, and anyone who reads the research. Patent granted.
The story behind the 311nm wavelength
Our founder Kris was 13 when he started narrowband UVB sessions for his vitiligo — and 311nm is the specific wavelength that protocol used, delivered through Philips bulbs. It's the most studied wavelength in UVB phototherapy research, refined over decades of clinical use. The Krypton borrows the spectrum Kris grew up under, and the control to run it deliberately.
What each spectrum does
630nm · 670nm Red · 830nm Near-Infrared. Matched to the absorption peaks of cytochrome c oxidase, the mitochondrial enzyme at the center of photobiomodulation research. 630nm and 670nm are absorbed in the dermis and studied for their interaction with fibroblast activity; 830nm penetrates several centimeters into muscle, joint, and connective tissue. Five 200W COB modules plus 90 LEDs deliver it at full-body scale — and LED mode doubles as warm ambient red/NIR lighting for the room.
320–400nm UVA. Present in natural sunlight from sunrise to sunset. Penetrates deeper into the dermis than UVB, reaching the vascular layer, and studied extensively for its interaction with skin cells, melanin biology, and the circadian system.
311nm Narrowband UVB. All UVB can damage DNA — that's true of sunlight too, and it's the honest starting point for any UV conversation. Broadband UVB spans the whole 280–315nm range, including the wavelengths that do the most damage for the least benefit. Narrowband is the answer researchers arrived at after decades of work: isolate the single wavelength — 311nm — where the intended biological effect is strongest and the mutation rate in skin cells is lowest, and deliver only that. Less of the spectrum, less of the damage, same effect. That's why clinical phototherapy standardized on 311nm, and it's the only UVB the Krypton emits.
UV and the human body
Sunlight carries UVA and UVB, and human skin has responded to both for as long as humans have existed — including converting cholesterol into vitamin D3 when UVB reaches skin. Indoor life, windows, clothing, sunscreen, and winter latitudes reduce that exposure. The Krypton emits UVA and 311nm UVB. It's a light source; your body does what bodies have always done with light.
Philips bulbs + Meanwell drivers — and why we don't make our own
Every UV bulb in the Krypton line comes from Philips, the Dutch company that has manufactured phototherapy lamps for decades — imported from their production in Poland. They're the same tubes used in clinical phototherapy units worldwide, and the reason is spectral consistency: a tube that says 311nm delivers 311nm — this tube, the next one, and the replacement you buy years from now. If the entire point of narrowband is precision, a bulb that drifts off 311nm forfeits the exact property the wavelength was chosen for.
Here's the honest part, and it's also the answer to what a Krypton costs: we could manufacture our own UV bulbs for a fraction of what Philips charges us — those tubes are a large share of the build cost. We don't, because Kris grew up under these exact bulbs, and his rule hasn't changed: we don't sell anything that didn't work for him first. With UV more than any other light, consistency is a safety feature, not a luxury.
The same thinking runs through the power electronics: the entire Krypton line runs Meanwell industrial-grade drivers — 0% flicker, magnetic field down to undetectable. Where a specialist already makes the best component, we buy it rather than build a cheaper one.
Modular by design — and which Krypton is right for you
The 1612 is the full-body foundation — the one for a dedicated light space, a practice, or a household running full protocols. The 606 covers targeted, smaller-area work. They connect: start with one, pair a 606 with a 1612 for targeted-plus-full-body, or add a second 1612 for wrap-around coverage. Three independent timers on every unit — Red/NIR, UVA, UVB — run one spectrum, stack two, or all four at once.

Testimonials
My fire dragon and blue light blocking glasses arrived in just a couple days. Love my machine, it has become a daily non negotiable especially living in Canada where the winters are so dark.
— Matt Ayuen
We ordered a firestorm in Dec 24, and WOW what an amazing machine. I suffer with an autoimmune thyroid issue called hashimotos (it lowers my testosterone levels and therefore my general energy levels). Since using this machine my Test levels have returned to normal and I feel like a new man. We have now ordered a second machine (the inferno) to cover the rest of the body. I highly highly recommend for autoimmune treatment. Thanks

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the Krypton different?
A: COB chip-on-board architecture across the entire Krypton line — not the SMD diodes most panels run. COB delivers 1,400 mW/cm² at panel face vs. ~200 from standard SMD. Mean Well industrial-grade drivers, 0% flicker — the same standard used in medical and industrial equipment. Wavelengths chosen for the cytochrome c oxidase absorption peaks (630nm, 670nm, 830nm) instead of the commodity 660/850 most panels run.
The full-spectrum UV models (Krypton 606, Krypton 1612) add UVA and 311nm narrowband UVB through genuine Philips PL-L bulbs manufactured in the Netherlands — the same bulbs every major phototherapy study has run on since the 1980s. The Krypton 606 is IEC 62471 photobiologically tested by LightLab International — the only UV system in the category with that certification.
Designed by Kris Sweeting, founder of EMR-TEK. He grew up using 311nm narrowband UVB protocols and built EMR-TEK to bring industrial-grade light therapy to home use. Every device he's made, he's used on himself first.
Do I have to use goggles with my lamp?
A: Yes — every session, no exception. The Krypton emits UVA, 311nm narrowband UVB, AND 830nm near-infrared (invisible to the eye but still reaches the retina). All three require eye protection. The included blackout goggles are rated for the full UV + NIR spectrum the Krypton produces — not optional, not interchangeable with regular tanning eyewear.
Start with red/NIR only on early sessions. Add UV gradually with shorter exposure times until you've built up tolerance. Full protocol guidance is on the product page.
What's your return policy?
A: 30 days from delivery, unused and in original packaging. If the device has been powered on or the box has been opened past inspection, it's not returnable. However, message us and we will work with you on your return. Email info@emr-tek.com with your order number to start a return. Every device also ships with a manufacturer's warranty — separate from returns, covers defects.
What is the warranty?
3 years on flagship panels (Ultron, Firehawk)
2 years on Kryptons and standard red light panels
1 year on the Eterno Mask and Firefly
How long will it take to get my order?
A: Fast. US orders placed before 2 PM ship the same day. Delivery is 2-5 business days to the US and Canada. 5-10 business days internationally. Ships from our Europe warehouse with tracking sent at dispatch. Free shipping on all orders over $145.
Does the Krypton emit EMFs?
A: Effectively zero. Krypton uses Mean Well industrial-grade drivers — the same standard used in medical equipment — eliminating the electromagnetic interference and voltage instability cheaper drivers produce. Push a trifield meter against the panel and it stays at zero. The Philips PL-L UV bulbs are radio-frequency stable, not the noisy generic UV tubes most panels rely on.
